New MSc Student | Neonatal Resuscitation Research
We are excited to welcome Grace Leaman as a new MSc student to the CSAR / Research4Babies team.
Grace will be working on an important and evolving area of neonatal resuscitation: alternative vasopressors during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)—with a particular focus on vasopressin.
🔬 Research focus
Current neonatal CPR guidelines primarily recommend epinephrine as the first-line medication. However, outcomes following CPR at birth remain poor, and there is growing interest in exploring alternative pharmacologic strategies.
Grace’s work will focus on:
Evaluating vasopressin as an alternative to epinephrine
Understanding its physiological effects during neonatal CPR
Contributing to ongoing translational and clinical research in this area
This research aligns closely with ongoing work within CSAR aimed at improving outcomes during one of the most critical interventions in neonatal care.
🚀 Building on strong foundations
Grace has already demonstrated outstanding performance during her undergraduate research, and we are delighted to see her continue her academic journey with us at the graduate level.
Her MSc work will build on a strong foundation of preclinical and clinical studies exploring vasopressor therapy in neonatal resuscitation.
👏 Looking ahead
We are thrilled to have Grace join the team and look forward to supporting her development as a clinician-scientist.
Welcome to CSAR, Grace—we are excited to have you on board!
