The Research4Babies team would like to recognize Dr. Mohamed Sewidan, Neonatal Fellow, for his valuable contribution to our neonatal resuscitation research program.

During his time with our team, he worked on a simulation study examining continuous chest compressions with sustained inflation ventilation (CCSV) during neonatal cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Neonatal CPR is a rare but critical event that requires healthcare professionals to coordinate chest compressions and ventilation effectively under considerable time pressure. Simulation research allows different resuscitation approaches to be evaluated in a safe and controlled environment while also providing important information about their performance, feasibility, and impact on resuscitation providers.

His project evaluated the use of CCSV during simulated neonatal resuscitation, contributing to our understanding of how this approach can be performed and how it may affect the experience and workload of healthcare professionals. This work complements the Research4Babies team’s broader clinical and preclinical research program examining strategies to improve the delivery and effectiveness of neonatal CPR.

Throughout the project, he brought valuable clinical insight, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to advancing neonatal care. His perspective as a Neonatal Fellow helped connect the simulation findings with the practical realities of delivery-room resuscitation.

We sincerely thank he for his contribution to the Research4Babies team and wish him continued success in his neonatal training and future career. We look forward to seeing the impact he will continue to make in neonatal care and research.
