Peking University Third Hospital

As part of our ongoing international research collaboration in China, I had the opportunity to participate in a neonatal resuscitation workshop at Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing.

The visit brought together clinicians, educators, and neonatal teams for an engaging program focused on improving delivery room care and neonatal outcomes.

🩺 Round table discussions and neonatal education

The workshop included:

  • Round table discussions on neonatal resuscitation

  • Case-based conversations

  • Updates on current delivery room practices

  • Discussion of challenges in neonatal intensive care

These interactive sessions created an excellent environment for exchanging ideas and experiences across healthcare systems and clinical settings.

🧪 Simulation workshop and NICU tour

A major highlight of the visit was the hands-on simulation workshop focused on:

  • Delivery room stabilization

  • Team communication

  • Respiratory support strategies

  • Neonatal emergency management

Simulation-based education continues to play an increasingly important role in neonatal resuscitation training and quality improvement worldwide.

The visit also included a tour of the NICU at Peking University Third Hospital, providing an opportunity to discuss clinical workflows, monitoring strategies, and approaches to caring for premature and critically ill newborns.

šŸŒ Beyond medicine – experiencing Beijing

In addition to the educational program, the visit provided an opportunity to experience some of the incredible history and culture of China.

Highlights included visits to:

  • Forbidden City

  • Great Wall of China

These landmarks reflect the remarkable cultural heritage and history of China and made the visit especially memorable.

šŸ¤ Strengthening international collaboration

International workshops and educational exchanges such as this are essential for advancing neonatal care through:

  • Shared learning

  • Simulation training

  • Collaborative discussion

  • Global partnerships

Thank you to the team at Peking University Third Hospital for the warm welcome, excellent discussions, and commitment to neonatal education.

We look forward to continuing collaboration and future educational initiatives together.
